How to get Free Text Messages:
Here's the deal. Text messages should be free. They cost the phone company quite nearly,
nothing, I mean we are talking .0000000001 cents. In steps Google, if not for their
wonderful search, they are great at leveling the playing field and encouraging, no,
forcing innovation.

Google has created (as in bought from another company, made free and way better) a
great little service called Google Voice. Once you sign up for an account you
get a new number. Now i'll spare you all the awesomeness this tool brings, and I'll
admit it, you have to actually try it out to realize what a great tool it is, I digress.

Free texts. Well, here it is folks. If you have a smart phone (iPhone/Android)
download the Google Voice app. Once that is done tell all your friends your new number
(this will be the last time...I promise....I think). Next set up google voice to not
forward text messages as a text message to your phone. Doing this is a little counter
intuitive, so I'll tell you how.

1. Sign into Google Voice account
2. Go to settings
3. Choose Voice Settings
4. Choose your primary phone and click edit.
5. Un-check the text box that says Receive
text messages on this phone.

You are done. After you have downloaded
the app, every time you get a text it will pop up as a push notification (basically
just like a text message), on your iPhone/Andriod.

Bingo, you now get free text messages. The way I see it I just saved you at least
$180 dollars a year.

It's the little things. :)
